Passenger Ferries to Scolt Head Island
Two licenced ferries operate during the summer months carrying passengers to and from Scolt Head Island and Gun Hill. The ferries are not part of The Boathouse and we recommend contacting them independently for information on times they are operating, they are tide led and normally 2 hours either side of the high tide in daylight hours.

For over 20 years Peter Bickle has run the ‘Island Ferry’. He runs from May throughout the summer, and picks up on the Boathouse Quay.

John Thompson, established in 2021 runs ‘Welcome’ (named after his grandfather), a wheelchair accessible ferry (open to everyone) which picks up and drops off passengers from the Hard. Click here for his website or follow him on facebook for regularly updated running times Tel: 07960 280139.
Visitors to the Boathouse will find the high water times each day displayed on the tide clocks on the small Boathouse door or on our tides page .
